Kitchen Remodling and Choosing the Best Wine Cooler for Your Needs

Kitchen Remodling and Choosing the Best Wine Cooler for Your Needs

We love a good kitchen remodel. And we know how important it is to have just the right appliances. Investing in the right cooler for your needs is the centerpiece of any kitchen design. More importantly, storing wine at the correct temperature is imperative for maintaining the flavors and mouthfeel of what the winemaker had in mind. Nothing ruins a good meal like a slightly warm Pinot Noir, or bubbles that are not cold enough.

The first step is to assess how many bottles you wish to have on hand in the kitchen. (More may be available in a separate wine room or wine cellar). The biggest mistake people make is underestimating how many bottles you want on had. We always say go bigger to allow for expanding your wines on hand as we offer special deals from our partner wineries.

A small, undecounter fridge is best for a few bottles on had, say around 12-20. A moderate collection of 50 or more could use a free standing or taller built-on, and large capacity coolers are best for 100 or more bottles.

Have your contractor measure your space carefully, allowing for any ventilation needs.

Next, choose whether you want your fridge built-in, free standing, or compact. Freestanding wine coolers for up to 100 bottles or more are the most versatile as they can be moved if you are not ready to commit to location or where you will be living. This is also a great option for renters.  Some great freestanding wine cooler options are our Transtherm Ermitage collection which can be added on as your collection grows. Other great options are larger capacity wine coolers  like the Lanbo Appliances Pro 287 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Fridge

We are loving the selection of coolers now from Kingsbottle, especially the 44-Bottle Undercounter Dual Zone Wine Cooler, a steal of a deal.

Or, our Summit Appliances 116 Bottle 24" Wide Dual Zone Wine Fridge.

No matter what your choice, we have options to fit your needs. Make sure your whites are stored at around 55 and reds can be up to 58 or 59. Champagne needs to be colder, so we recommend a smaller fridge just for bubbles if you have the room like our Lanbo 33 bottle single zone or our Vitara 24" Side by Side Wine and Beverage Cooler.

Custom create your space to what makes you feel good while cooking, grilling, or entertaining. like this fun, dark blue kitchen below from customer, Cheryl B.
