The Kegerator Sale of the Century!

It's St. Patrick's day as I write this-one of my favorite holidays-and an early summer with unseasonably warm temperatures in Northern California. For most people, this calls for a cold beer while preparing a St. Paddy's day feast. And while recipes all say adding Guinness draught adds flavor (I do not disagree) cooking without wine to me is sacrilege. Yes, as they say in the wine industry, it takes a LOT of beer to make great wine, it takes great wine to cook a meal.

Today's meal starts with opening a chilled bottle of Anderson Valley Pinot, my go-to for sautéing.  The draught will be added to the crockpot in good time but a good time for me means a great glass of wine.

Poolside favorites are always rose, and some friends are now partial to bringing over their favorite bottle of orange wine, but the beer drinkers always show up in droves which is why I am dedicating this month to kegerators and the enjoyment of a freshly poured draft on tap. Poolside or not, beer has been an American staple for decades, long before Americans discovered wine in favor of cocktails.
