Napa Valley Wine Auction 2024

We caught up with some of our friends at the 2024. The weekend kicked off with the fan favorite barrel auction, hosted by Hall Winery and Sotheby's International. More than 50 wineries were on hand to showcase wines yet to be released. This is an opportunity for oenophiles from all over the world to really geek out on how different wood affects the wine stored in barrels from all parts of the wine world, from Napa Valley to Bordeaux, France. And array of samples is overwhelming and this event brings guests together once again in a festive, high energy mode to connect and discuss all things wine.

However, wine is meant to be enjoyed with good food and there was no shortage of delicacies on hand to savor while sipping. The event was elevated with live music and dancing and was the tipping point for the much anticipated auction the following day.

Among the coveted offerings were rare vertical collections, exclusive barrel tastings, and bespoke winery experiences. Enthusiasts had the opportunity to bid on unique lots that included private dinners with winemakers, access to unreleased vintages, and curated tours of vineyards typically closed to the public.

One standout lot featured a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to blend and bottle a personalized cuvée under the guidance of a renowned winemaker, complete with custom labeling and a commemorative case of the finished wine. Another highly sought-after lot included a private helicopter tour over Napa Valley, followed by a gourmet lunch and private tasting at multiple acclaimed wineries.

Amidst the bidding and anticipation, the atmosphere was vibrant with a palpable sense of camaraderie and shared passion for exceptional wine.
